Displaying Messages

Messages may be issued during machining.
These message will not interrupt the program execution. Messages provide information with regard to a certain behavior of the cycles and with regard to the progress of machining and are usually kept beyond a machining step or until the end of the cycle.

HMI Layout
Function Area

Function Area This diagram display shows the current operating (function) area. One HMI function area comprises all aspects of the same subject or function.

Active Mode or Submode

Active Mode or Submode This diagram display shows the current operating mode or submode the machine is running in.

Message Number

Message Number This is the field where machine message number reference appears. The alarm numbers are displayed in black lettering on a grey background. An arrow indicates that several messages are active.

Message Text

Message Text This is the field where machine faults and messages appear. The associated message text is shown in black lettering.

List Name

List Name This displays the name of the currently loaded list.

Date and Time Column

Date and Time Column This column will display the date (mm/dd/yy) and time the message occurred.
This column can be sorted as ascending (most recent last) or descending (most recent first) by pressing the "Sort" vertical softkey.

Number Column

Number Column This is the column where the machine message number reference appears.
This column can be sorted as ascending order or descending order by pressing the "Sort" vertical softkey.

Text Column

Text Column This column is where machine faults and messages appear.

Sort Vertical Softkey

Sort Vertical Softkey Pressing this vertical softkey will open a window to allow the sorting of the list by date or by number in ascending or descending order.
An up or down arrow will appear on the relative column header to indicate the sort order.

Horizontal Softkey Bar

Horizontal Softkey Bar This displays the main level menu for the machine. Each menu item has its own screen or screens with various sub-functions. The user softkey bar can be expanded to display additional softkeys if available via the menu forward key.
