Replace Electrical Cabinet SMC or SME Module

Drive Cliq Replace SME SMC

This document explains the procedure for replacing an SMC or SME sensor module.

The use of Drive Cliq in drive engineering is no longer sufficient for replacing components. All Drive Cliq components have a so-called electronic nameplate that transmits information such as serial number, machine size, and firmware version to the system. Components with identical Siemens order number can be replaced easily, while the comparator must be modified for components with different order numbers.

Topology comparison: So that new components are automatically taken over in the target topology, care must be taken to ensure that the sub-assemblies are identical (same Siemens order number). Swapping components (swap 2 SMCs for troubleshooting) is only possible if the comparator is set to medium (P9906 = 1).

Firmware: If a firmware upgrade is currently being applied to the replaced component (can be seen from a message in the diagnostics window), please wait before switching off, as otherwise communication problems with the new sub-assembly may occur. The firmware comparison starts automatically in the event of variances

NOTE:
To replace the electronic system, always turn off the main switch completely!

Replace a sensor module:

  • Switch off the machine
  • Replace the sensor module
  • Switch on machine
  • Carry out SI HW confirmation in [Menu select] [Diagnostics] [Alarm list] [Confirm SI HW]
  • Confirm with OK An automatic restart follows.
  • Note new checksums in the acceptance report.

The position value and adjustment status are not lost by replacing a sensor module!
