When Heller, a leading provider of metal cutting and production equipment, needed to provide a complete set of IETMs (Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals) with the delivery of a new machining line for Caterpillar's Peoria, IL facilities they turned to ITS. We provided a comprehensive, consistently designed electronically based interactive equipment reference and training program. It included the centerpiece of Heller's MC 220 CNCs along with the major suppliers of production components including: Liebherr, Harry Major Machines and Spectrum gantry and conveyor systems, Mayfran chip conveyors, Donaldson mist & dust collectors and DE Smith coolants system, as well as a complete system overview, covering seven individual components overall. Each component level system included separate IETMs for Operators, Mechanical, Electrical and Programming, loaded with information such as safety, component descriptions, operational and maintenance step-by-step procedures, and detailed parts list information to name a few. 29 individualized IETM's were delivered in a timely manner to coincide with the delivery and implementation of the line. Additionally, these interactive reference systems are designed to be used as training aids—ITS provided extensive in-classroom and on-the-machine training at the facilities complete with certifications, 54 classes in all, training 274 individuals.
